CME programme: CME on the theme of Mental Health Day was done in Anwar Khan Modern Medical College, Dhanmondi, and Dhaka on 9 October in 2012 at 12.00pm. Dr Md Delwar Hossain and Dr Avra Das Bhowmik jointly presented an article on ‘Depression: A Global Crisis’. Besides, various discussion meetings in psychiatric departments in different medical colleges were undertaken.

Activities on electronic and print media: Special supplement regarding theme of the day was published in a leading newspaper. Along with this, different articles on the theme of the day were published in various dailies. To build up awareness, members of BAP participated in various Mental Health Talk Shows emphasizing the theme of the day in audio visual media as a part of celebration the day.

Press Conference: The rally was followed by a Press Conference at VIP Lounge of Dhaka Reporter’s Unity in National Press Club, Dhaka at 11am. The conference was chaired by Professor Dr Md Waziul Alam Chowdhury, General Secretary, BAP and the Chief Guest of the conference was Professor Dr Md Golam Rabbani, President, BAP. Theme paper was presented by Dr Muhammad Zillur Rahman Khan, which was followed by an open discussion with journalists of electronic and print media.

Rally: A colorful rally with banners, festoons started from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib University (BSMMU), Shahbag, Dhaka and ended at National Press Club, Dhaka. All mental Heath professionals including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Psychiatric Nurses, and others from different parts of the country actively participated in the rally. The rally started at 7.30 am.

 

The 9th ICP will provide an opportunity for the attendees to update and expand their knowledge in innovative research and challenging domains of psychiatry, psychopharmacology, neuroscience, and neuroimaging through contribution from distinguished local and international speakers. Specialists will share their own experiences regarding new clinical trial data and latest developments in the field through conferences, panels, workshops, expert meetings and lively debates.
